You can look up any Gatineau property in the City's online assessment roll with its address, its cadastre number or its matricule number. The 2027-2029 roll has been searchable since noon on October 27, 2026, according to Le Droit. The value you will see reflects the market on July 1, 2025.
Look up a property in five steps
- Open the City's online roll. It is at www3.gatineau.ca/servicesenligne/evaluation.
- Search with one identifier. The City accepts a property address, a cadastre number or a matricule number. If you only know the address, start there.
- Read the value with its dates. The 2027-2029 roll takes effect on January 1, 2027, is valid until December 31, 2029, and reflects the market on July 1, 2025.
- Compare it with your assessment notice. The notice is the official document sent to the owner.
- Decide whether to act. If something looks wrong, or you disagree with the value, note the review deadline below.
What the assessment notice contains
According to the City, the notice shows the property's new value and its file details, and explains how to request a review. Check four things on it:
| Item to check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| The value | It is the figure the roll carries for 2027-2029 |
| The number of dwellings | It is part of the property's file |
| The owner's name | It identifies who the notice is addressed to |
| The review deadlines | They tell you how long you have to ask for a review |
The notice is not a tax bill and asks for no payment. If you want to talk to an assessor about a detail in your file, the City says you can book an appointment through its evaluation service at evaluation@gatineau.ca.
Two deadlines to know
For a new roll, a review request must be filed before May 1 of the year it takes effect, so before May 1, 2027 for this roll. Le Droit and TVA Gatineau both give April 30, 2027 as the last day. If the City later sends a notice modifying the roll, the request must be filed before the 61st day after that notice is sent. The full review process, with fees and steps.
From the value on the roll to the tax bill
The value you find is one input to your property tax. The other is the rate the City adopts, so a new value alone does not tell you what you will pay. How the roll and your property tax relate. The roll is also a tax value as of July 1, 2025, not a market price; the municipal assessment vs market value guide covers the difference, and the overview of the 2027-2029 roll has the key dates and the figures reported so far.
